MANILA, Philippines-- Judy Ann Santos' stellar power is
expected by some to add at least P100 million to the box-office returns
of her upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry co-starring
Senator Bong Revilla and Vic Sotto.
It's not such a tall order considering the math of the matter: When
Vic and Bong teamed up for "Si Agimat At Si Enteng Kabisote" in 2010,
the film shattered box-office records by earning P159 million. The
following year, when both stars released their respective films, Vic's
"Enteng ng Ina Mo" earned more than P237 million while Bong's "Ang
Panday 2" raked in more than P105 million.[Related: Judy Ann Santos Not Hoping To Win For Role In MMFF Entry]
As for Judy Ann Santos, she made the P100 million MMFF club with "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo" (grossed P122 million in 2007) and "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo" (P140 million in 2006).
So, really, contributing nine digits to the total loot is no big deal for any of them. Or is it?
In an interview, the actress revealed feeling anxious over the public's reception to "Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako" since she knows only too well that no one can predict these things.
"Siyempre ang babagsakan ng sisi kung sakaling mag-number 2 or number 3 yung movie ay siyempre ako lang. Ako lang bagong dating," Judy Ann pointed out, laughing.
She counts to her favor that her film caters to people of all ages, and that her being there added "new flavor" to the film where she plays Princess Angelina Kalikasan Orteza or AKO from the Kingdom of Diwarata who safeguards the environment.
