A total of 22 overseas Filipino workers repatriated from Syria - the first batch for 2013 - will arrive home on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Monday.
 
The DFA said the OFWs are from the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo and will arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 10:15 p.m.
 
"The repatriates travelled by land to Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport where they took Qatar Airways flight QR 423 to Doha and then flight QR 644 to Manila," it said.
 
It added that their arrival will bring the total number of Filipinos repatriated from strife-torn Syria to 3,310.
 
Meanwhile, the DFA reiterated its appeal to OFWs still in Syria to avail soonest of mandatory repatriation.
 
The DFA pointed out the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate.
 
Those who want to avail of repatriation may contact the Embassy for assistance at 963-11-6132626, it said.
 
On the other hand, kin of OFWs were asked to provide the DFA with latest information regarding their relatives’ current location and contact details in Syria.
