Revelers taking part in the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo on Sunday may have to bring umbrellas as PAGASA on Saturday said rain is possible on Sunday over parts of the Visayas as well as some areas in the country.

"Magiging maulan sa bandang Visayas at bandang Mindanao, PAGASA forecaster Meno Mendoza said in an interview on dzBB.

A separate report on "Balitanghali" said there may be little chance of rain during the morning, but rain is likely to fall in the afternoon or evening.

In its extended weather outlook on Saturday, PAGASA said Iloilo and Bacolod Cities in Western Visayas may be cloudy with rain showers or thunderstorms on Sunday.

The temperature range there is forecast to be between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius on Sunday, it added.

On Sunday, residents and visitors are expected to take part in the Dinagyang Festival.

Police in Western Visayas have finalized security preparations for the festival, with the Police Regional Office 6 sending added security personnel to Iloilo.

Sunday's activities include a concelebrated High Mass for devotees, tribes, government officials and guests at the San Jose Church, and the Ati contest — LBG, GMA News
