A “high-level” business delegation from Israel will arrive in the Philippines next week, to be followed by an American group later in the month, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) said late Monday.

According to PCCI president Miguel B. Varela at the sidelines of the 64th Management Association of the Philippines Inaugural Meeting in Makati, the Israeli group will consist of 30 top company officials, while the 40-delegate US group “will be headed by the Vice-Governor of Hawaii.”

The foreign business leaders are interested in investing in the manufacturing, engineering, telecommunications, marketing and tourism sectors, said Varela.

“We want them to invest in projects that create jobs. We also want to them to invest in factories because we need them,” he said.

The Philippines hosted 487 business missions from January to October 2012, according to the Board of Investments. This year, Argentina, Chile, Italy, Mexico, Peru and Russia are expected to send business missions to the country.

“These countries see the Philippines as the gateway to Asia,” said Varela.
