The days of the corrupt and those in collusion with smugglers at the Bureau of Customs are numbered, the President said Wednesday, noting it's just a matter of timing when the administration will implement an extensive plan to weed out the bureaucracy of bad elements.
Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon is aware of the plans, and the only thing left to consider is the timing of the actions, President Benigno Aquino III told reporters at the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Roxas Airport Development Project in Roxas City, Capiz on Wednesday.
The President also criticized Abono party-list chairman and Swine Development Council Rosendo So who claimed that the Philippines is now the “smuggling capital of Asia.”
Pero there have been serious efforts, pati ‘yung nirereklamo niyang kaisa-isang rice smuggling, may [nakarating] sa akin na maraming napapahuli,” he said. — VS, GMA News
