A flotilla of fishing vessels in Danzhou, Hainan province on Monday sets sail for the Spratly Islands, an archipelago being claimed by China and other countries including Vietnam and the Philippines. China has sent one of its largest recorded fishing fleets to the disputed islands in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea), amid tensions over Beijing's assertion of its claims in the region. AFP
