Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., the car brand's official distributor in the Philippines, is optimistic that strong economic numbers will translate to as much as 5- to 10-percent growth in sales next year.

"The 5-percent growth is actually conservative [due to sometimes delayed supply], but we can be at 10 percent next year," Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI president and chief executive, said at the sidelines of the company's Christmas party in Pasay City Wednesday .

In 2013, HARI also plans to add two more models to its current roster of 12.

Agudo also said the company is “right on track” meeting its sales target of 22,000 units for 2012

HARI reported that sales in the first 11 months reached 20,491 units, an 8-percent growth from 18,922 a year ago, driven by strong sales in the passenger car category.

However, Hyundai's November sales fell 25 percent year-on-year to 1,673 due to the delayed arrival of units. — BM, GMA News
