A thankful Nonito Donaire Jr. on Sunday voiced hopes his knockout
victory over Jorge Arce would lift the spirits of Filipinos amid the
trials they now face.
Donaire, who scored a third-round knockout over Arce, also thanked God, his team, and Filipinos worldwide for his victory.
"I hope I lifted your spirits through these times of trials and wish blessing and happiness this Christmas. Mabuhay Pilipinas!" he said on his Twitter account shortly after the win.
He thanked God, St. Michael and his archangels for protecting him and giving him awareness and focus.
Also, he thanked his team for its "guidance and belief" in him, and to his family, friends, and fans for their "love and positive vibes."
"Last but definitely not the least, to all the Pinoys all over the world, Salamat and God bless!" he said.
Earlier, MalacaƱang and Vice President Jejomar Binay congratulated Donaire for the win.
