Updated 11:28 a.m.) - Retrieval operations for the bodies of dead miners trapped in a mining pit in Antique were temporarily suspended Monday after two new landslides occurred at the same site due to rainy weather.
 
Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr., police director of Philippine National Police-Western Visayas, said the retrieval operations of buried dead bodies are being hampered at the Panian pit of Semirara Mining Corporation
 
As of last weekend, the death toll from the landslide that hit the mining pit in Semirara in Antique remained at five. 
 
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said the landslide occurred at 11:54 p.m. of Feb. 13 at Semirara Mining Corp. in Caluya, Antique.
 
The NDRRMC said the five fatalities include: Abner Lim, 39; Joven Hocate, 31; George Bragat, 30; Efren Equiza, 28; and Anthony Siblet, 26.
 
Rescued were Marjun Catoto, 23; Adrian Climar, 29; and Leonardo Sojor, 40.
 
The NDRRMC listed those still missing as Leovigildo Porras, 50; Jan Riel Planca, 28; Randy Tamparong, 30; Richard Padernilla, 26; and Junjie Gomez, 19. 
 
The Department of National Defense has sent five K-9 units to Antique to help look for the missing miners. —KG, GMA News
