PAGASA: Possible 35-degree weather in NCR on Easter Sunday

 After going through the hottest day so far this year, residents in Metro Manila may have to brace for 35-degree weather on Sunday, state weather forecasters said.

PAGASA's extended weather outlook indicated the weather in Metro Manila may be only partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

On the afternoon of Black Saturday, PAGASA had recorded the highest temperature in the metropolis so far this year at 34.9 degrees Celsius.

Also, PAGASA forecast temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao for Sunday and Monday - and 36 degrees on Thursday.

Meanwhile, for Sunday, PAGASA forecaster Connie Dadivas said the easterlies or warm winds from the east will continue to affect the country's eastern part.

"Maaliwalas ang kalangitan maliban sa paminsan minsang pag-ulap (We can expect good weather with partly cloudy skies)," she said in an interview on dzBB radio.

PAGASA's 5 a.m. bulletin also indicated the whole archipelago "will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening."

It added light to moderate winds from the east to southeast will prevail over northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added.  — ELR, GMA News
