Out with Instant Preview, and in with drop-down menus.
This sums up Google's apparent experiments with drop-down menus that offer "cached," "similar," and "share" options, tech site The Next Web reported.
"Google has essentially cleaned up its search results page by shoving the three options into a menu. As before, the Cached option sends you to the cached page, the Similar option performs a new related search for you, and the Share option lets you do so on Google+," it said.
Before, The Next Web said Google offered the "Share" option beside the search results, with "Cache" and "Similar" at the right-hand side in the preview section.
However, it said it is not clear if the new drop-down menus, which appear beside every URL, and the disappearance of Instant Preview are related.
On the other hand, The Next Web said Instant Previews had disappeared.
"(I)t appears that it is just a test — which the company runs regularly on its homepage," it added. — TJD, GMA News
