Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Albert Del Rosario
on Thursday said he initially was not aware of the alleged
"sexploitation" being committed by certain Philippine envoys and embassy
staffers against female overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
“This is the first time I've heard of it,” Del Rosario said in an
interview with “News to Go” host Howie Severino on Thursday morning.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, Akbayan party-list Rep. Walden Bello, chairman of the House committee on overseas workers' affairs, said three Philippine embassy and labor officials in the Middle East have been accused of sexually abusing (OFWs) in exchange for repatriation.

In an interview on “News to Go” on Thursday, Bello revealed that the
sources of his allegations were DFA and labor department midlevel to
senior officials in Manila.
However, Bello also
admitted that he has yet to talk to supposed victims of the alleged sex
