Our Lady of Mercy School in Daly City, California, the school of a Filipino boy who died from a car crash on Christmas day, has set up a memorial fund for his family.

Kendrick Ng, 11, died in a car crash in Pasadena, California with his cousin Tracey Noelle Ong Tan, 25, who was driving the vehicle, a report of the news site Asian Journal said.

Kendrick's parents and sister were also severely injured by the high speed crash.

They were hit by a Dodge Durango van driven by Darrell Lee Williams, 22, with Brittany Michelle Washinton, 21, in the passenger seat.

Two counts of murder were filed against the two on December 28, Sandi Gibbons, spokesperson of the district attorney's office, said.

Three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count each of being a felon in possession of a firearm and gang allegation, were also filed against the duo.

Kendrick's school has so far raised $3,645 (roughly Php150,000) out of the goal of $10,000 (Php410,000).
